Our hens have had a good life as laying hens. Their range eggs are of high quality, and so is their meat after the laying season is over. When the hens reach 16 months, the texture of the meat is at its best. At that moment the Grandmère hens are selected.
Our breed of chicken is only developed in the Netherlands and Germany. SMP Culinair is strongly opposed to the import of poultry from low-wage countries. All birds are slaughtered and cooked in the Netherlands. The rest of the production process takes place within the EU.
